This story holds the news values of currency, timeliness and prominence.  This story is simply a human interest piece that looks into the history of the tradition known as the Easter Egg Roll that takes place on the South Lawn of the White House.  It fits perfectly in this week's news since Easter was only two days ago.

This story holds the news values of timeliness, currency, impact, conflict and prominence.  Easter Sunday's Mass with the Pope at the Vatican is considered one of the holiest in the Catholic eye; however, this time around the Mass was heated with defense rising in Cardinal Sodano's voice as he praised all the Catholic priests even in time of all of the alleged sexual abuse crimes.  The Pope embraced Cardinal Sodano though causing even more conflict on if he should be untouched during this situation.

88 gay couples have married in Mexico City

Mexico City's officials say 88 same-sex couples have gotten married in Mexico's capital since a law allowing such unions took effect last month.  Full Story

This story holds the news values of timeliness, currency, impact and conflict.  Mexico is following in the foot steps of the United States by allowing gay rights; marriage more specifically.  It is historical and it will only keep growing with such accepting people; open people; those that are willing to treat all equally.  Although, the gay marriages and all of gay rights will always be hated upon by the Catholic Church.

This story holds the news values of timeliness, currency and impact.  Since the tragic event on Jan. 12 the coverage on all things Haiti have been constant and consistent.  This is by far the best news to be given; the kids are back in school; schools are up and running again.  Haiti is finally fully recovering in the right path.

This story holds the news values of timeliness, currency, proximity and even ever so slightly bizarreness.  This family lives in a home that has two addresses since it straddles the Long Island/Queens borders.  This is a human interest piece since it allows you to go into the every day lives of this family dealing with living technically in two places at once.  They essentially have the best of both worlds; cheap utilities and such from living in Queens and cheap and safe schooling in Long Island among other things.

5 charged in gang rape of girl, 7, in NJ apartment

Two men and three teenage boys were charged Saturday with gang-raping a 7-year-old girl who was sold by her 15-year-old stepsister during a party at a crime-ridden apartment building in the state's capital, police said.  Full Story

This story holds the news values of timeliness, currency, impact and proximity.  It is the new thing to be "green" and one New Jerseyan architect has recently built himself a "green" house along the Jersey shore in Long Beach Island.  The reasoning to this project is simply just him testing the waters before posing the ideas to clients.

This story holds the news values of prominence, impact, timeliness and currency.  The Cinderella ending for Butler fell short after the buzzer sounded — when Gordon Hayward's half-court, 3-point heave for the win barely missed to leave tiny Butler one cruel basket short of that perfect fairytale ending.  The Blue Devils have now won four national championship titles.  This win has given coach Mike Krzyzewski, his first championship since 2001 and it being the fourth ties Coach K with Adolph Rupp for second place on the all-time list.
